Note: If you have not watched the Desolation of Smaug or not read ‘The Hobbit’, I suggest you don’t read this unless you don’t really care about spoilers. Also there’s about one swear in this so...yeah

In the land of Mirkwood...

“Why am I locked up in here?” you asked the other dwarves who were locked in different cells to you.

“Because elves hate dwarves and see us as trespassing on their land,” Dwalin replied bitterly.

“Which is why I don’t understand why I’m here: because I’m not a freaking dwarf!”

“You’re still going on about that!” another dwarf moaned; you weren’t sure who it was exactly because of how voices echoed around the room. “We’re a group of about a dozen dwarves, a hobbit and a human who can somehow change her height. I think you could be mistaken for one of us. Either way, we’re stuck in here for the rest of our lives.”

“Wait, where is Bilbo?” you wondered.

Your answer was silence followed by an argument that consisted of angry dwarf voices which made you growl slightly. There was such a chorus of noise that you couldn’t tell who said what.

“I thought you were supposed to keep an eye on him!”

“No I wasn’t! I was too preoccupied with the mutant spiders that attacked us anyway.”

“What do you mean preoccupied? You pretty much just sat there and let them tie you up.”

“Well, I didn’t see you doing anything useful!”

“At least I tried to fight back!”

“Oh really, and how did that work out?”

“Better than you could’ve done.”

“Is that a challenge?”

“For the love of Mahal, shut up!” you screeched. “The guards are coming.”

You were glad what you said was true as the dwarves became silent immediately, watching the guards. The guards walked up to Thorin’s cell and mentioned that Thranduil wanted to speak with him. Thorin-who had been silent up to this point-grunted as he reluctantly allowed the elf guards to take him up the stairs. The rest of you watched him slightly worried for the outcome of Thorins discussion with the King of Mirkwood; what if he said something that would provoke Thranduil to kill you all or just leave you to die in the cells? You prayed that neither of those things would happen but after hearing Thorin raise his voice at something to do with the elves not being there for the dwarves before, you realised that your prayers were probably not going to be answered. A few minutes later, the guards dragged Thorin back to his cell and shoved him in.

“Did he give you an offer?” Balin asked when the guards left.

“Yes,” Thorin sighed.

“I’m guessing you didn’t accept it.”

“...”

“So, what now?” Fili asked.

“...He said that we are to stay here for a hundred years,” Thorin said.

“Well, we’re dead,” you moaned. “I never thought my grave would be in an elvish cell. Thanks a lot Thorin...”

“Don’t blame all of this on-“ Thorin growled but was then cut off.

“Both of you be quiet!” Balin interrupted. “There’s no point in arguing about it now.”

“We might as well since we have a hundred years to do it!” you retorted.

“__.” Balin said sternly.

You sighed, muttering something under your breath and curling up into a ball in the corner of your cell. The other dwarves discussed how they could escape from the cells but the options were limited seeing as the only belongings any of them had were their clothes. Soon enough, they began moaning about how they would never be able to get out and argued about how they were going to entertain themselves for so long. You lifted your head slightly to glance at the other dwarves but did a double take when you saw a figure in front of your cell.

“Bilbo?” you gasped, getting up from your position. “How did you-?”

“I think you might need this,” he said grinning, showing the keys to your cells and unlocking your cell.

“Mahal, you’re a saint Bilbo!” you cried, hugging him briefly after running out of your cell. “Now let’s get everyone else out.”

...

Later, after (and still) being assaulted by orcs and tossed around by the water of the river...

“I swear to Mahal Kili,” you hissed. “I will kill you if you die!”

He just grinned at you before getting out of his barrel, crushing the heads of a few other dwarves and jumping onto the bridge that the lever was on. You all had managed to escape from Thranduil’s palace with the help of Bilbo in the form of barrels (Pewdiepie would not like that XD) so all of you were soaking wet from the rapids and also had to deal with the orcs that were trying to kill you. Unfortunately, the elves cut you off by closing the gap under a bridge with a gate so you couldn’t get past. This is why Kili is trying to reach the lever. He seemed to be doing fine at first after being thrown a sword so that he could kill a few orcs... until he got shot in the leg by an arrow which caused him to double over in pain.

“Kili!” Fili cried, wanting to help his brother.

You quickly jumped out of your barrel to where Kili was, grabbing a sword from the ground and killing the nearby orcs, noting that Tauriel and Legolas had managed to make their way there.

“Die bitches!” you growled, slicing an orc’s head off, running up to the lever and pulling it.

Letting the two elves deal with the rest of the orcs, you went to Kili and dragged him over to the edge of the bridge to put him in his barrel, ignoring his grunts of pain as well as the other dwarves protesting against your actions (mainly people such as Fili and Balin). You then jumped into your barrel and continued down the steep drops and turns of the river.

...

Later (again)...

After a while of trying to fight more orcs whilst restricted to the barrels, watching the elves being too perfect for their own good and seeing Bombur fighting better than the rest of you after being thrown onto the land by the river, you managed to escape from the orcs and reached the end of the river where the current was a lot slower and you found a place to get out. Most of you clambered up onto the rocks shakily after being stuck in the barrels for so long. You were all soaking to the bone and took a moment to sit down and walk around.

You took off your now ruined boots and turned them upside down to let the water out, not that it would help them to dry that much quicker, damn water. You noticed Thorin was already discussing with a few others as to how they would cross the lake; you didn’t really want to know at the moment because of how tired you were so you walked over to Fili and Kili. The arrow had been taken out of Kili’s leg but there was a lot of blood still coming out from it. You were worried that if it didn’t get treated soon, it might lead to infection.

“How are you faring?” you asked Kili.

“I’m fine,” Kili grunted, clearly not fine. “I’ve had better days though.”

“Have you done any treatment on it?” you turned to Fili, who had his eyebrows furrowed.

“I’ve cleaned it with water but Thorin said we can’t treat him any further,” Fili replied. “We don’t exactly have the supplies anyway.”

You sighed and stood up, wincing from back pain; for some reason, your back had been aching for a while for a reason you weren’t sure of. The two younger dwarves seemed to notice your discomfort.

“You’re hurt,” Fili said, noticing blood on your back. “Come here.”

“I’m fine.”

“__!”

You reluctantly walked back over to the brothers as they told you to sit down so that they could see your back. You sat so that you were facing away from them whilst they examined underneath your torn shirt; it was mainly Fili doing most of it though as he was the only one of the three of you not injured. You could feel Fili tracing the edges of what you presumed was a gash on your back.

“It seems an orc caught you with its axe,” Fili stated.

How could you not have noticed or felt when the injury was done? You honestly didn’t know; you couldn’t really dwell over it as you heard Kili shift uncomfortably so you turned to face him.

“That injury is from when you came to help me at the bridge, isn’t it?” Kili mumbled, blaming it on himself.

“Hey, it’s my fault,” you protested. “I should have been more careful.”

“Even though a lot of us were yelling at you things such as: look out, behind you and be careful,” Fili pointed out, smiling slightly.

“Oh be quiet,” you laughed, lightly punching him in the shoulder. “It’s hard to listen to your obnoxious voice when my life is on the line.”

You all grinned and Fili put an arm around your shoulders and Kili’s, pulling you all together so that your foreheads touched.

“Just think,” Fili said, making eye contact with you and Kili in turn. “We aren’t that far from Erebor. Soon we will be able to walk through its halls like Uncle used to and we won’t have to worry about dragons taking away our home again.”

“We’ll finally be able to see what it’s like,” Kili whispered. “Whether the stories told about it are true or not. We’ll be able to live carefree like before.”

“All we have to do is survive the last part of the journey,” you said. “We have to reach Erebor together.”

“I think we can do that,” Fili said.

“Fili, Kili, __,” Thorin called. “We need to get moving.”

The three of you looked up to see everyone else already set to go so you and Fili supported Kili in getting up, signalling for everyone else to move on. As everyone walked forward, you, Fili and Kili looked at each other and grinned at the thought of nearing your true homeland.

I mean slight Fili/Kili x Reader, there's hardly anything; I kinda wanted to add more fluff or something but it wouldn't fit in in this scene...Sorry :(

I watched the Desolation of Smaug last week and holy jeez, it was great (in my opinion). I loved the dragon and how it was designed. However, did there really have to be a love triangle between Kili, Tauriel and Legolas? I just found it unnecessary.

Anyway, I do not own the Hobbit or any of its contents blah, blah, blah...
